ILG Announce Terry Revill as Edgware Candidate

terry_revillA local charity leader, Terry Revill, renown for his passion for local community work, enthusiasm to help the underprivileged people and children through his charity and down to earth manner has decided to stand for the Independent Labour Group in Edgware Ward (Harrow) in the local elections on 22 May 2014.

Brief Biography of Terry Revill:

Terry was born in No. 2 Locket Road, Wealdstone, Harrow. Terry has lived in Harrow and Edgware all his life.

Terry has been running Flash Musicals, a local Charity, set up for underprivileged children and families, since 1997. Terry is a sitting member of the Safer Neighbourhood Panel for Edgware and has been for the last seven years. Terry started the local Residents’ Association, Little Stanmore, and co-founded Chandos Assembly – he is still a member holding regular meetings. Terry works with the Police and the Council’s Anti Social Behaviour and Drug Dependency Unit. Terry works with people suffering from learning disabilities as well as Senior Citizens.

Terry has helped with the Council’s flagship event Under1Sky over the years having a marquee with cream teas and old songs. Terry supports Harrow’s entry in the London New Year’s Day Parade. Terry feels that the ordinary people of Harrow – especially the most vulnerable and those without voice in and understanding of Local Government – have been forgotten and neglected by the political class and establishment parties. Terry is not really interested in ‘party politics’ but in what is right. He is not afraid to speak up.

Terry said “I will not necessarily toe any party line if I think it is wrong unlike some Councillors from other parties. My first priority will always be the people of Edgware and Harrow. My personal experience of how the Harrow Labour Party initiated a politically motivated smear campaign about my charity – Flash Musicals – has made me realise that ordinary people like me must make sure that their voice is heard by the political class and media. A year which should have been one of our best due to being one of the Mayor’s chosen charities, has in fact turned out to be one of our worst, due to this party political game masterminded by Harrow Labour Party”

Terry’s priorities

Terry feels that the street cleaning, pavements and pot hole situation in Edgware – one of the most deprived parts of the Borough – is terrible when compared with Hatch End or Pinner. This is not right. Terry feels strongly about the following issues and will campaign for them.

  • Crime Reporting acted upon
  • Council Tax
  • Free 20 minute parking
  • Community Engagement
  • Care issues
  • Crime/Anti-social behaviour
  • Refuse/Bin Collection
  • Higher sentences for criminals
  • Council Housing
  • Housing and ridiculous rents
  • Flytipping

Sounds like a decent bloke. I’d vote for him if he was standing in my ward.
