Bob Blackman MP Asks: What’s Our Best Local Curry Restaurant?

curryBob Blackman, Member of Parliament for Harrow East, has invited constituents to get in touch and tell him about their favourite local curry restaurant.

The Harrow East based curry restaurant that receives the most votes will be nominated by Bob for the 7th Annual Tiffin Cup which is awarded each year by a cross-party group of MPs to raise money for the charity World Vision and has become a very prestigious benchmark of excellence.

Bob is keen to see Harrow East represented at the awards, commenting, “We have some absolutely exceptional curry restaurants in my constituency – so many in fact that it’s hard to choose only one to nominate! So that is why I’m inviting you to get in touch and tell me who you think deserves the chance to win the cup and bring it home to Harrow.”

Ten nominees from across the nation will be short-listed and invited to a special cook-in at Bellamy’s Restaurant in Mayfair, London where the overall winner will be found.

Please email bob.blackman.mp@parliament.uk no later than the morning of 14th July to let him know who you think should receive the nomination.

Why have I never seen a restaurant in Harrow with the hygiene rating? In other places I have visited the hygiene rating of between 1 and 5 is clearly shown on the window or the door. Does anyone know of a restaurant in Harrow that displays this hygiene rating?

Concerned harrovian, you can check the ratings for Harrow on the Food Standard Agency website, simply enter your postcode to find out how your local performed. Most places in harrow are well rated, interestingly the lower rated establishments tended to be off-licenses and grocery stores rather than restaurants.

You won’t see anything normal in Harrow that helps the public. And I would say to Bob Blackman there is far more important work in Harrow needed then what restaurant to eat in!! However, can he make sure whatever place he selects has a proper hygiene rating like Concerned Harrovian suggests!!!!
