Bob Blackman MP Hails Huge Fall in Unemployment in Harrow East

bob_blackmanBob Blackman, the Member of Parliament for Harrow East, has welcomed newly released statistics that show that 324 fewer people are claiming unemployed benefits this month than were in June 2014, which was 93 lower than in May 2014. This means that the number of unemployed claimants in Harrow East in June 2014 was 1,081, which was only 2.1% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64.

Commenting, Bob Blackman said, “These figures are enormously welcome and very encouraging. The Government’s Work Programme is getting more long term unemployed people back to work and delivering real value for money for the tax-payer. Over 208,000 jobseekers have found lasting work to date, including 74,000 young people. 1.7 million new private sector jobs and 500,000 new businesses have also been created since this Government came to power. The people of Harrow are extremely hard working and I am not surprised they are finding their way back into work now that they are being given the right help and opportunities to do so.”

There are now a record breaking 30.5 million people in work, an increase of 1.6 million since 2010. Youth unemployment is falling and there are also more women in work than ever before. The Government has provided an extra £85 million for over 100,000 grants to employers who take on an apprentice and businesses are being put in the driving seat on the design of apprenticeships, to make sure that they equip young people with the skills employers’ value and need; this Government has overseen the biggest ever boost to apprenticeships, with 1.6 million starts during this Parliament.

Goverment’s work programme is really working according to some sources 10,000 people have committed suicide following Work Capability assessments and 2,500 before the assessments, Wellfare to work is really working in destroying lives, sending people into long term hospital care and costing us more, but thats alright, the government can twist the figures as it suits them. Has anyone been to the Jobcentre lately, some words come to mind, Degrading, Punitive, Fascistic,Control freakery but then I do not expect any less from Ian Duncan Smith’s. He does not have to sign on, his wife has milions and he can claim millions in expenses or at least £37.00 for breakfast.

Political swipes aside, and regardless of whether or not these figures are accurate or fudged? Can anyone tell me what specifically old Bob has done to be able to be able to coat tail this news and accept any of the credit for it?
