Bob Blackman MP welcomes Michael Gove to Harrow College

bob_blackmanMP for Harrow East, Bob Blackman, joined forces with the local candidate for Harrow West, Hannah David, to invite the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove, to visit Harrow College and see the excellent work being done there first hand.

Mr Gove spoke to the student body about their BTech qualifications and also engaged with the students with special educational needs. The Secretary of State was keen to emphasise the point that vocational courses are just as important as academic courses and he praised the teachers of the college for their hard work and dedication.

Bob Blackman added: “I very much agree with the Secretary of State’s points about different types of education being equally as important as each other. It is very important that young people have a broad range of options to help them get ahead in life in whatever fields they chose, taking the routes that best work for them. I am delighted that Michael has chosen to visit Harrow College and show his support for the wonderful work they are doing there.”

Mr Gove also spoke to the student representative council about A-Level reforms.
