Bob Says: Crossrail Route via Harrow and Wealdstone Welcomed

bob_blackmanBob Blackman MP Backs Bid to Route Crossrail via Harrow and Wealdstone Station

Harrow East MP, Bob Blackman, has strongly backed new proposals to extend the Crossrail project through Harrow and Wealdstone Station in his constituency.

Plans were announced by the Transport Secretary, Patrick McLoughlin, as he addressed Crossrail workers at Farringdon station in London, to provide faster commuter services to the Hertfordshire stations of Tring, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhampstead and Watford Junction, via Harrow and Wealdstone.

Bob Blackman commented, “This route idea would ease the journeys of thousands of hard working commuters who live in Harrow and work in Central London, as well as helping to drive further economic growth in our area. I strongly agree that this is a very sensible measure to reinvigorate transport links into and through London and I look forward to working closely with the Transport Secretary, and with Transport for London, as the plans progress.”

As well as providing new connections, it is estimated that the link could potentially reduce journey times to Central London by up to 15 minutes and take some of the pressure off the existing tube and overground networks.

This sounds really fab!Let’s hope we see Harrow enjoying the benefits it deserves along with so many others.Good on you,Bob!We always like our borough to be given the green light for projects such as this one.It would be absolutely brilliant to be part of CrossRail and help our development simultaneously saving much travel time in and out of London.
