Bob says: Harrow Small Shops Award 2013 Competition

bob_blackmanBob Blackman, MP for Harrow East, has joined forces with Hannah David, the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Harrow West, to launch a new competition for small businesses in Harrow.

The Harrow Small Shops Award 2013 Competition was launched on Saturday 7th December to coincide with the national Conservative campaign for Small Business Saturday, and gives one lucky shopper the chance to win £100 in time for Christmas. To take part, residents just have to go online to www.harrowloveslocal.co.uk and vote for their favourite shop.

Bob Blackman, said, “Small Business Saturday was a great way to show support for all of the excellent local shops and traders which we have throughout Harrow, and this competition is intended as a way to honour the work they do. It’s not about one day of supporting local trade, it’s about encouraging people to do so regularly and to support the shops they love.”

Hannah David, added, “We want to make sure the small businesses of Harrow get the recognition they deserve for making our area such a great place. This competition gives everyone a chance to recognise their favourite local shop and help them to win.”

Well done Bob and Hannah for joining hands in an excellent cause.Anything that helps put our local shops on the map and encourage local trade deserves a hearty welcome.I would be lost without our local grocers,shop-keepers and traders who give us the personal service which the “big boys”cannot, especially since I do not drive.
