A Miserable Week for Dave

20150117_sad_daveSometimes, you have to feel sorry for Invisible Dave. Not only did he have turn down a slap-up meal at the Local Government Association – on Thursday night, so that he wouldn’t get beaten up for missing cabinet, but he certainly didn’t look as if he were enjoying himself at a fabulous night of celebration at Harrow’s Thai Pongal celebrations at the Civic Centre tonight.

The event itself was a fantastic celebration of the Harvest Festival, celebrated by the Tamil community, and is one of the most important festivals in their calendar. With dancing, music, speeches, and a packed council chamber, it was a surprise that Dave decided to bail out after just under an hour, especially given the huge numbers of Harrow residents who had come along to take part in the event, including a large number or councillors – even the somewhat poorly Cllr Jerry Miles managed to make it.

Other attendees included prospective MPs Uma Kumaran and Hannah David, as well as current incumbent in Harrow East, Bob Blackman. MP for Harrow West, Gareth Thomas, was unable to make it – being a new dad, he’s probably up to his neck in nappies and bottles (congrats, by the way, Gareth!).

But a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are some links to some of the photos posted on Twitter by others present.
