Backlash over Clearview’s Plans for 332 Northolt Road

We’ve written before – several times, here, here,  here and here – on the plans by Clearview for 332 Northolt Road – the old Petrol Filling station adjacent to Sainsburys. Now that the planning process has started, the comments, nay, objections, have started to pour in to Harrow Council.

Many of the objections relate to the additional traffic at an already busy junction, along with the – predicted, by us at least – issues about lack of on-site parking. One concern deals with the density of proposed population, and without actually going so far as to say it, voices fears that the “level of responsibility” by the occupants would fall into question.

Another objection suggests that the site would be better used as a car park – something that South Harrow is lacking in – but, of course, to make the same return as 51 ‘flatted units’ the parking charges would have to be astronomical.

You can read all (currently) eight objections online at Harrow’s Planning Portal, searching for reference P/2400/11, where you can also add your comments of support or of objection.
