Council Leader Can Cook, Will Cook

Cllr Thaya Idaikkadar, the newly-elected Leader of the Council has ticked off another of his promises as completed. No, it’s not fixing all the potholes across the borough, nor introducing relaxation in short-term parkin charges, but taking over the Council’s canteen kitchen for a spot of cooking.

The Great Leader, who’s reportedly an excellent cook, treated staff to a menu of traditional Sri-Lankan food: Freshly made lamb soup served with a bread roll; chicken curry and spinach and aubergine curry, both served with dhal and basmati rice; semolina, pineapple and raisin pudding.

Great Leader said: “I love cooking so it was a pleasure to share my passion with everyone at the council. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it and there were lots of requests for more. I hope to be able to do it again soon.”
