Harrow Community Roadwatch – June 28, 2016

harrow_council_logoThe MPS are setting up a community roadwatch scheme in Harrow, launching their first event on Tuesday 28th June from 12pm on Milton Road, rear end of Civic 1. They would welcome any community champions that would like to take part:

Harrow Council is currently working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and City of London Police (CoLP) to run Community Roadwatch – a road safety initiative which aims to reduce speeding in residential areas.

Community Roadwatch gives local residents the opportunity to work side by side with their local police teams, and use speed detection equipment to identify speeding vehicles in their communities. Warning letters will be issued where appropriate, and the information captured can help to inform the future activity of local police teams.

The MPS have arranged their first Community Roadwatch event to be held on Tuesday 28th June at 12pm on Milton Road, HA1 1XX just behind Harrow Civic Centre.

If you would like to take part in Community Roadwatch, or wish to suggest a residential area where there are community concerns around speeding, please contact PC Jai Kothari on 0208 733 3693 or alternatively email jai.kothari@met.police.uk.

I wish they could or would do this on council owned public Bridleways save dodging cars at 50+mph or being driven at.

Never see speed cameras these days they could use volunteers and heavy fine to cover eqyipment all the residential roads need protecting from speed rogues
