Harrow Councillor David Gawn Reappears in Court. Again.

Harrow Councillor David Gawn (Labour, Harrow on the Hill), must be hoping for an end, sometime soon, to his own personal nightmare of ongoing court appearances.

Having last appeared in early October, he was there again earlier this week, but the wheels of justice seem to be turning slower than ever. On Monday’s appearance, the Crown Prosecution Service made an application to join another similar charge, but this was rejected by the judge – who said there had already been too many delays.

His next appearance will be November 19, 2012. As a reminder, the accusations that he tried to steal £7,000 will be heard at Harrow Crown Court.

Gawn, a 35 year old Chairman, Director and founder of Harrow Community Radio, previously appeared on the same charge twice before at Hendon Magistrates’ court, on January 5 and on February 23, before the court discharged the committal of the case to the crown court, on March 15.

What happens to this second charge – the one the judge refused to be joined to the first – is a mystery, but this doesn’t seem to be concluding anytime soon.
