Harrow Council’s Electrical Recycling Event – June 21, 2012

Have you got electrical goods to get rid of? Don’t bin it, bring it!

Declutter your home of unwanted and broken electricals at a ‘Bring Event’ on Thursday, 21 June. Harrow Civic Centre on Station Road will be the site of this unique community event.

Time: 9am – 4pm

Simply bring your unwanted or broken electrical items which you no longer want to the Civic Centre on Station Road from 9am – 4pm. The event is being supported by 1, 2, 3 Recycle for Free who will take away all the broken electrical equipment to be recycled.

Residents can drop off any unwanted electricals in the Access harrow reception in the Civic Centre, Station Road.

Not only will you be decluttering your homes, you’ll also be helping the environment! Each year in the UK we go through over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical waste into landfill. That is the equivalent of 150 thousand double decker buses! By recycling old electricals instead of throwing them away, residents will be helping to save landfill space, save valuable resources and prevent environmental degradation.

The event is being supported by 1, 2, 3 Recycle for Free. This is a free electrical recycling service recently launched in Harrow. The service collects items directly from local businesses to be recycled at an EA Approved and Authorised Treatment Facility. The service is a partnership between DHL Envirosolutions and SWEEEP Kuusakosk, supported by Harrow Council.

It’s also worth mentioning that many charity shops in Harrow can also take electrical goods – you may wish to try them first to help out your local community.
