Harrow ILG: Independent Labour proven right

ilg_rose4Press release from Harrow Independent Labour Group…

The Council has at last acknowledged its Public Sector Equality Duty to deal with Institutional Racism and has informed Independent Labour that an independent investigation will be set up.

In a press statement on 12 September, Independent Labour stated that it supports the Constitution and Rule of Law.

In contrast, Harrow Labour Party and the Conservatives colluded to suspend 18 clauses of 27 clauses Rule of Procedure in order to push through what was wrong. They used democracy to undermine democracy.

[pullquote align=”right” textalign=”left|center|right” width=”30%”]”Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it.”[/pullquote]Independent Councillors supported Independent labour’s position. Since the meeting of 16 September, an Extraordinary Council meeting has been called to discuss the Constitution.

Independent Labour spokesperson said: “Independent Labour will always put Harrow First. In accordance with the constitution, 5 Councillors, asked the Mayor to call a meeting to discuss the constitution. Contrary to the ignorance of Labour spokesperson, this meeting is properly called. Elected Members are expected to deal with serious issues which concern the welfare of people. The possible illegality of the Administration, the Constitution and Rule of Law are fundamental in a democracy. As Tolstoy said, wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it.”

Marvellous -cuts everywhere the borough rapidly becoming a slum, and one of the wosrt places in London to live, and the councillors prioritise their own persoanl issues.

…at least the Conservative and Labour parties only suspended 18 clauses. That’s a tad better than the 19+ planning policies that the ILG chair of the planning committee breached when passing the planning application of a certain Harrow school in order to “push through what was wrong”. Pot and Kettle spring to mind.

Paul – the comment by pot&kettle is a lie and libel-the chair of the planning committee does not pass planning applications-the whole committee does. Please redact that part of the statement or I shall have no option but to ask legal services to request same of you. Thanks, Will.

I always thought the chair had the casting vote so technically he ensured it got approved
