Harrow Labour Group Names Margaret Davine as Deputy Leader

In what was, in jest, described as a ‘good cop, bad cop’ move, the Harrow Labour group have named Cllr Margaret Davine (Labour, Edgware) as their Deputy Leader, following Cllr Thaya Idaikkadar winning the position of Great Leader a month or so back.

Residents in Edgware will, of course, be delighted: Cllr Mrinal Choudhury was Mayor of the Borough last year, and Cllr Nana Asante, their other councillor, is currently Deputy Mayor.

Cllr Davine has a busy life already, being involved with at least Age Concern London, Central and NW London NHS Foundation Trust, Newton Farm First and Middle School, Relate London North West, Stanmore College and the Staying Put Scheme Advisory Council. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also involved in the Fabian Society and Harrow’s Women’s Centre.
