Harrow Libraries – the numbers

News just in from Harrow Council concerning the Libraries around the borough received 1,856,211 visits during 2009/10, and issued 1,537,130 items “including books”.  Harrow achieved a use-of-libraries score of 56.2% – the highest by a London Borough.  We take that to mean that 56.2% of people use the Library service, which is clearly good news.

On a related note, Roxeth Libarary will be closed from June 1st – 8th, so that the new self-service checkout equipment can be installed.

On another related note, Harrow looks set to join the London Libraries Consortium for the procurement and supply of library stock. What this means in practice isn’t quite clear yet…
