Harrow Turns On Diwali Lights

On Friday, 9 November, Harrow Town Centre was brought alight when Harrow’s celebration snowdrop lights were switched on as part of Diwali celebrations.

The light garden will circle Katie’s Statue in the Town Centre and will remain there until January 3rd for the period which includes Al-hijra, Hanukah, Christmas and the New Year.

Harrow Council Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration Cllr Keith Ferry said: “These lights are a great way to celebrate Diwali and will make the town centre very festive.”

“The Council is working on a long-term vision to regenerate Harrow Town Centre and create a place where people want to live, work and be entertained. We have worked hard to win the funding that paid for the lights. The funding also sustains immediate measures that support businesses and help them compete against other shopping centres across London in this tough financial climate.

The light garden is one of a series of activities and events to promote the Town Centre and attract shoppers from Harrow and beyond during the festive period and into the New Year.”
