Harrow’s Christmas Market – November 23-25, 2012

The festive spirit will come alive in Harrow when the town centre plays host to a three day European Christmas market in Harrow Town Centre.

The European Christmas market provides the perfect opportunity to buy unique presents and treats in time for Christmas and will showcase an array of stalls from all over Europe , offering a range of crêpes, cheeses, olives, pastries, crafts and jewellery.

The market will take place from Friday November 23 to Sunday November 25 in St Ann’s Road and will be open from 9am to 6pm Friday and Saturday, and from 10:30am to 5pm on Sunday.

On Saturday the town centre also plays host to a Song Festival on St John’s Road from 11am to 5pm. Visitors will be able to get into the festive spirit with choral singing from a mixture of professional, community and school groups, celebrating the diversity of vocal traditions.

The market and Song Festival are organised by Harrow Council and supported by the Mayor’s Outer London Fund, which is helping to increase the vibrancy and growth of high street places across London . We want shoppers to make Harrow their destination for Christmas shopping.

Cllr Keith Ferry, Harrow Council Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration, said: “It’s great to see a European Christmas market in Harrow. The market will really create an exciting Christmas atmosphere in the borough in the run up to the festive season. Supporting the town centre and local businesses is a top priority for the Council, they are at the heart of our communities and we want them to thrive. Previous initiatives supporting our shop keepers in Harrow have proved very successful.  We want to keep the momentum going by bringing a bit of variety to the shopping experience in Harrow , while at the same time supporting our shopping centres. We are creating diverse and interesting places to encourage local people to consider their local high street as their destination of choice.”
