Harrow’s Garden Waste Collection – Price increased by £5?

harrow_council_brokenGarden Waste collection across the borough, publicly promoted at £75 a year, seems to have crept up by £5 for no apparent reason. Whether this is a price increase for random residents across the borough, or just those using an iharrow.com email address isn’t clear, but it’s certainly concerning.

The screenshot below clearly indicate that the total amount is £80 – so what’s gone wrong? Are the council charging an extra fiver?

Well the answer is… we don’t know. The page below would indicate that the cost has gone up to £80, although an email from the council would indicate that only £75 has been charged. Until the credit card statement arrives in the post, it’s going to remain a mystery. However, the inability of this half-witted council to do a simple sum such as this correctly really doesn’t bode well for the multi-million pound budget that they’re supposed to be managing.

Thanks for the tip. I paid the £75 bin charge (or so I thought). I will be checking my credit card bill to find out what I have been charged. Can we report the Council to trading standards if they charge Harrow people more than the advertised £75?

OMG these people are in charge of Harrow Council’s budget! Help, help SOS

This council could not run the proverbial whelk stall. Roll on the ceremony of the ‘ boot out’. Can’t come soon ecough.

I had better check my statement as well since I paid £75 before the end of January as Harrow Council had demanded. This is getting to be real headache and a non-starter.

You should also check to see if you have a receipt if so print it off & keep it handy as the councils computer system is not showing up everyone who paid so you need that to show the refuse team if they say your not on the list & they will empty your bin.

There are catch up teams out collecting missed bins that were paid for, also they missed my bin I checked website reported it missed & tweeted to the council is this a breach of contract as you failed to supply services paid for, when my neighbour went to report hers the website info had been altered to your road has not been collected therefore you cannot report missed bin even though her next door neighbours bin had been emptied.

I know any system needs bedding in but there comes a time when you have to look at the quality of the management team across the board at the council.
