Harrow’s Heroes 2011 – Nominations now open

Nominations are now open and will close on the 8th August 2011.

This year the Harrow’s Heroes 2011 Volunteer Award ceremony will take place on the 8th November 2011.

All nominees will be invited to the ceremony and awarded a commendation certificate. The winners receive a crystal trophy and a cash prize to give to their chosen community and voluntary organisation or charity.

In order to qualify, the volunteering activities must have taken place within the last year (September 2010 – August 2011 ).

Nomination categories are:

  • Young Volunteer of the Year – Open to volunteers up to the age of 25.
  • Trustee / Committee Member of the Year – An individual with one of these roles who has helped to develop a local community and voluntary organisation.
  • Environmental Volunteer of the Year – A volunteer who is involved in local projects that help to develop and safeguard the environment now and in the future.
  • Sports Volunteer of the Year – A volunteer who contributes in the arena of sports to benefit the local community.
  • Partnership Volunteer of the Year – Someone who has successfully built partnerships across their community to achieve greater understanding between various sections of the community.
  • Community Volunteer of the Year – An individual who voluntarily provides valuable support to the community.
  • International Volunteer of the Year – A Harrow resident who volunteers to support international projects.
