Harrow’s New Chief-Exec Lockwood Wins Private Eye Lazarus Award

mike_lockwood-150x150Harrow Council’s Chief-Exec-to-be wins another award – not, alas, one to be proud of this time around, but rather Private Eye’s Lazarus award:

To Michael Lockwood, former £227,000-a-year chief exec of Harrow, who was shown the door by the London borough’s Tory rulers as a money-saving measure last year. He left with a lump sum of £30,000, a payment into his pension pot of £138,651, and an annual pension of £65,000. After seizing back control in May, Labour advertised for a chief exec. Lockwood applied for his old job and got it – despite coming third in the selection process. He has not been asked to give back any of his payoff from last year.

It must, by now, be slowly sinking in to Invisible Dave’s skull that bringing back Lockwood, is a clear tit-for-tat move, isn’t the smartest move he’s ever made.

Meanwhile, Lockwood’s parody Twitter account, @mikejlockwood seems to have gone quiet. If you know who the faker is, please get in touch.

Thanks to D for the heads-up on this one.
