Harrow Town Centre and North Harrow shopping district are going digital with the launch of a pair of dedicated new websites by Harrow Council on Thursday (29th March, 2012).
Harrow TownTalk and North Harrow TownTalk bring together all the shops, bars, restaurants and businesses in a virtual town centre website for each area, so that local residents and visitors can find whatever they need at their fingertips.
Shoppers can find special offers and also leave comments in a ‘reviews’ section to let fellow residents and visitors from outside the borough know how good the local shops are. The best reviews will be awarded prizes including the chance to win an Apple iPad 2.
The websites will carry details of local attractions and anyone with events or news can add it directly, giving the entire community the opportunity to share information.
The project is just one of the new and exciting initiatives being delivered by Harrow Council to help local businesses in Harrow Town Centre and North Harrow during the recession. Cllr Keith Ferry, portfolio holder for planning and economic development on Harrow Council, said:
“Keeping residents up to date with all the latest events, offers and news from Harrow Town Centre and North Harrow is one of the ways we can support local traders, and increase footfall. The new websites are a great way for traders to showcase what is on offer and residents can get involved too, reviewing local businesses or posting information about upcoming events.”
