Loan Shark Awareness session – September 6, 2016

PayDayLoanShark1-150x150Don’t get bitten by a Loan Shark!

A Loan Shark is someone who lends money illegally, often without paperwork, and if payments are missed they often use intimidation and violence to get money from their ‘clients’.

Brent and Harrow Trading Standards, in partnership with the England Illegal Money Lending Team, is running a Loan Shark Awareness session at Brent Civic Centre on Tuesday 6th September.

Come and learn more about how loan sharks operate, how you can report them, and what alternative options are available for you if you need to borrow money.

  • Date: 6th September 2016
  • Time: 10am arrival for 10:30 start
  • Duration: 2.5hours
  • Venue: Brent Civic Centre (Boardrooms)

The session is open to all residents of Brent and Harrow; we also welcome anyone working in the boroughs who may come into contact with individuals who have been, or are at risk of being, targeted by a loan shark.
