Parents to get employment support at Harrow’s Children’s Centres

harrow_council_logoHarrow Council’s employment service, Xcite, is now visiting children’s centres in the borough to reach out to parents who are looking for work.

The Xcite programme provides support to help residents find work, with emphasis on identifying and overcoming any barriers that are currently in their way.  People can get one to one advice on CV writing, confidence building, application forms and practice interviews. Xcite also provides support in accessing training programmes and a valuable resource to find local job vacancies.

More than 14,500 families use children’s centres every year for a huge range of services ranging from breakfast and after school clubs and childminding groups to early intervention groups and midwifery.

Residents wanting to make use of Xcite should call the reception of one of the four children’s centres taking part in order to book a 30 minute appointment.
