School Governor Vacancies in Harrow

Harrow, like many other boroughs, is always seeking school governors to help set the strategy of it’s schools. Mostly, these groups are filled with long-time-members, but there’s always a churn of parent governors – parents, whose children go to the school.

As a school governor, you don’t necessarily need a background in education. The most important thing is that you’re committed, enthusiastic and can contribute some of your time to this rewarding role.

Currently, Harrow has vacancies for a number of governors, with at least 30 of those vacancies being for parent governors:

Places Vacancies Percentage
Community 144 29 20%
Foundation 90 15 17%
Local Authority 134 27 20%
Parent 253 30 12%
Sponsor 8 5 63%
Staff Rep 180 27 15%
809 133 16%

The role isn’t onerous, and takes up a couple of evenings each term – with luck, you’ll even get tea and biscuits!

If you’re interested in finding out more, you can visit Harrow’s School Governor webpages and apply online. Or talk to your local school if you’re a parent.
