The Sale of Council Assets – Part II

harrow_council_logoBack in February, we ran a guest post about the sale of council assets, and we touched on a Caretakers house at 51 The Gardens, which was up for auction with a guide price of £250,000+. and eventually, according to Bazza, went for £415,000.

Barely two months later, it’s back on the market with estate agent Robertson Phillips, and an asking price of £475,000 – an increase of £60,000 over that paid for it. It comes complete with pink shag-pile carpet in the lounge, overgrown garden and a 1970-style kitchen.

Clearly, the council is missing a trick here. A firesale is possibly not the best way to get value for your assets when you sell them.

This link might work for the sales particulars, otherwise go here and search for NH00004588.

Many thanks to G for the heads up.
