“Trace Your Family History” course in Harrow

Harrow Council  has teamed up with Family History Detectives and Find My Past to form a unique partnership to promote family history within libraries in the local community by providing free access to computers and library online resources including www.findmypast.co.uk.

The “Trace your family history” course runs from 11th January 12 – 15th February 12, and is a six week course for those beginning to trace their family history. Topics covered will be: how to start; civil registration; census returns; parish registers; wills and probate and surnames.

Time: 13:30 – 15:00 on Wednesdays

Residents living in the London Borough of Harrow wanting to trace their family history are being invited to get along to Harrow Civic Centre Library. The initiative has been designed to support people as they trace their UK based family history.

A six week course for those beginning to trace their family history. The cost will be £35. The topics covered will be: how to start; civil registration; census returns; parish registers; wills and probate and surnames. We can accept bookings from those attending “Bringing history alive on your doorstep launch” on 7 December and then will open up to all, however places will be limited.
