Tree Planting in Alexandra Park

A long time ago, we wrote about the works compound, at the southern corner of Alexandra Park in South Harrow. This was an area set aside to facilitate the building works during the replacement of the Railway bridge on Petts Hill, yet it had remained an active works compound for some time following completion.  Subsequent enquiries to Harrow Council by SHARRA asking questions about it finally resulted in the hoardings being taken down, and some handfuls of grass seed being scattered over it.

We’re pleased to note today that a number of small trees have been planted there, to aid the return of this small corner of Harrow’s green spaces into part of the park . It might have taken some concerted effort on behalf of local residents to achieve it, but we’re glad to see that Harrow Council do listen on occasion.
