Chorleywood Literary Festival – November 6-18, 2012

The 7th Chorleywood LitFest – 6th to 18th November

The line-up has been revealed and we’re thrilled at what we have in store for you. Just take a look at the full details of our events list for November and who is is coming when.

As always we have some real stars for you – Nigella Lawson with her latest mouthwatering sensations from Italy, Ben Elton one of our most provocative and entertaining writers , Classic FM presenter John Suchet on Beethoven and the BBC News’ ‘man outside No. 10’, Nick Robinson . We have the return of Howard Jacobson, the Man Booker prize winner who left us aching with laughter last time he came; there’s thought-provoking stuff from the world-renowned justice and civil rights lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith; gripping first hand accounts of fighting in Afghanistan from Patrick Hennessey; a touch of eccentric amusement at the expense of the Middle Classes and for lovers of Downton Abbey we have the author of its official companion book delving deeper than ever into the characters. And we have our regular event where we pick our favourite new authors and invite them to come and talk to us about their work. There’s lots more too. There’s too much to fit into a short introduction like this so we suggest you take a look at our Events section and start picking out your favourites. There really is something for everyone.

As a small Festival, the venues are small and places are limited so once they’re gone, they’re gone. We recommend you buy your TICKETS as soon as possible to make sure you don’t miss out. This year we’re even offering an early-bird discount for anyone who buys their tickets before 1st November. Please don’t leave it to the last minute and miss out!

When you’ve decided which events you’d like to come to you can buy your tickets straight away in our online TICKET SHOP. You’ll be able to choose whether, when they’re ready, you’d like to have your tickets sent out to you or to collect them in person from Chorleywood Bookshop, whichever you prefer.

You can also take part in our WRITING COMPETITIONS. There are groups for all ages and children’s entries especially are very welcome. You can read more about them HERE.

Our FRINGE events are detailed HERE, with a special treat in store for all youngsters who love Harry Potter.

Last, but not least, the event is organised by Chorleywood’s own independent bookshop with lots of help from the local community and HELPERS. If you think you can give us a hand, we’d love to hear from you.
