Harrow Arts: Contours Of Light – July 3-24, 2012

In 1863 Charles Baudelaire called for painters to focus on ‘depicting the fast-changing landscape of life’, and described such an artist as ‘The Painter of Modern Life’; it is clear that within her varied series of works, capturing such modernity is something that Andrea Tyrimos achieves.

Her vibrant oil paintings represent a nocturnal narrative flow. The paintings float between abstraction and realism, and are as much to do with the physical medium of paint itself as the intangibility of the light this medium attempts to reproduce.

More details here and here and the exhibition is at the Harrow Arts Centre.
