Harrow Arts – Matt Panesh: Monkey Poet – November 2, 2011

A double-bill of critically acclaimed shows – packed value for wallet-tight times!

Welcome… to Afghanistan – History repeats itself! Adapted from Lt. Greenwood’s memoir published in 1844. This first half is a one-man play telling the story of the first Afghan wars in the 1840s.

“A sweeping war epic with nary a single hand prop. Plenty of laughs and a poetic and resonant finale will have you thinking about the show a long time after you’ve left your seat.” – Theatre Guide London

The second half of the evening is entitled Welcome… to the UK – Satiric stand-up in rhyme. There’s bound to be an amount of audience participation!

“Hilarious, touching on Fleet St, Nationalism and Politics giving all an even-handed bashing of wit.” – Citylife

Think Bill Hicks meets Mark Thomas, add a dash of rhyme and you’ve got Monkey Poet. For more information please visit www.monkeypoet.co.uk.
