Harrow in LEAF Show – 28/29 August 12.00 – 6.00pm

Harrow in LEAF are pleased to be holding their 7th annual show, again in association with Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre. It is the largest horticultural show in the borough, because it is supported by so many local societies and individuals.

You will be amazed at the displays in the Horticultural Marquee, seeing what people grow on their allotments and in their gardens. They hope you will be encouraged to have a go at growing fruit, vegetables and flowers yourselves. The displays of cookery, wine, craft, photography and painting are always inspiring, too.

The Harrow Beekeepers’ Marquee has a fascinating array of products from the hive, such as beeswax, candles, polish, mead and, of course, many varieties of honey. There will be live bees to look at, you can make your own beeswax candles and buy local honey.

For the children there will be attractions such as rides, a petting farm, a juggling workshop, face-painting, and a fire engine will be visiting on both days. This year for the children’s classes we are asking them to design a poster that can be used to advertise the show next year.

There will be live music, archery, Morris dancing, a raffle and tombola and, of course, refreshments.

Handmade jewellery, wooden bird tables, stained glass, gifts, clothes and plants, and more, will be for sale, with other stalls taken by local charities such as Guide Dogs for the Blind and Harrow Conservation Society.

Harrow’s very own ‘Queen’ will open the Show on Sunday and the Mayor will be visiting on the Monday and presenting the prizes.

Guided tours of the only moated manor house in Middlesex will be available for a small fee.

If you are interested in having a stall, a pitch booking form with information is available. Last year’s Show was a great success with a record number of visitors and stalls.
