i am Harrow – exhibition

i am Harrow is a unique look at one of London’s most diverse boroughs. Harrow Council photographer Dermot Carlin has put together a collection of portraits and short stories about the most interesting people he meets in his job. The subjects include an Auschwitz survivor and a former gang member who has turned his back on crime and, with the help of the council’s Youth Offending Team, has become a volunteer youth worker. The exhibition is a celebration of the people who live in Harrow, and runs from Thursday 5th May – Friday 1st July 2011.

Here are some examples of Dermot’s work, from his Facebook page.  If this is an indication of the quality of his photography, then this exhibition is clearly well worth going to!

For copyright reasons, we’ve kept this pictures deliberately small, although we’re sure Dermot would be happy to talk to you independently.
