Saturday, 22 October 2016 – CHRISTIAN BREWER-DAMON BROWN QUINTET
Our two bandleaders have been at the forefront of British post-bop jazz since the 1980s and play regularly together in London’s best jazz clubs. Both have lived abroad and worked with the pick of the top US and UK jazz musicians.
Their approach to jazz is inventive and exhilarating, but always faithful to the essential tenets of the music, with swing uppermost. Trumpeter Brown has a fine array of compositions to his credit and Brewer is a vital voice on alto.
Expect great music, their efforts complemented by the mercurial pianist Jonathan Gee, with the 2016 Worshipful Co. of Musicians Young Jazz Musician of the Year Adam King on bass, and Pinner stalwart Matt Skelton on drums.
