Come and explore the oldest building in Harrow.
St Mary’s Church, Harrow on the Hill, is holding a series of open afternoons across the summer, where you can see:
- A Thousand-year-old burial
- Norman Archway
- Medieval Wall Painting
- A Superb Carved Roof
- Medieval Brass Memorials
- Jacobean Pulpit
- Victorian Stained Glass Windows
- A 20th Century Painted Ceiling
You can also join a tour to the climb the tower’s spiral staircase (dated from 1210) to visit the belfry, see the bells, and enjoy the view from the roof. There is a small charge for tower tours, and they operate on the dates below at 2.30, 3.10, 3.50 and 4.30pm on the open afternoons.
Open afternoons are from 2.30 – 5.00pm on the following Sundays:
- July 22nd, August 12th and September 16th.
