Open Art Exhibition – Harrow Weald

An Open Art Exhibition
All Saints’ Church, Harrow Weald – 23rd September to 2nd October 2011

Building on the success of the ‘Vision/ Division’ event in 2009, which was visited by over eight hundred people, ‘Distance Travelled/Time Taken’ is the second exhibition of contemporary art to exploit the creative spaces offered within All Saints’ church and its grounds.

Art to be exhibited will be traditional or conceptual, embracing any medium, including painting, photography, design, textiles and sculpture and installation pieces. The sculpture and installation pieces will be exhibited within the church building or within the grounds of the church, including the graveyard (now managed as a nature reserve) and adjacent woodland.

Contributing artists are invited to explore the theme expressed in the title of the exhibition, which seeks to articulate the concept of ‘journey’.

The ‘Distance Travelled/Time Taken’ exhibition will provide a framework for nine days of artistic and cultural events, hosted within All Saints’ Church, for the whole community.

Local artist, Victoria Nash comments: ‘This is a really innovative event that seeks to celebrate the creativity of the local community and artists across London and beyond . The exhibition promises to entertain, to challenge preconceptions and to surprise’.

The Exhibition is free and is open everyday between 12:00noon and 6:00pm. More details here.
