Pinner Jazz: Clark Tracey Quintet – April 18, 2015

pinner_jazzSaturday, 18 April 2015 – CLARK TRACEY QUINTET

Drummer, composer, club organiser and festival director Clark Tracey is a true renaissance man of jazz. He’s also a mentor to young musicians, regularly putting together small groups to showcase emerging talents. Happily for us here in Pinner, he’s done it again with this new quintet, fresh-faced and eager, even if trumpeter Henry Armburg-Jennings is already familiar to us. Clark writes tricky themes and expects his players to respond creatively and they do. Theirs is vigorous hard bop at its best. Look out for Chris Maddock on alto, Harry Bolt, piano and the stirring bassist Daniel Casimir. Plus Henry and Clark, of course.
