Proscenium Presents “Death and the Maiden” – March 11-14, 2014

20150227_prosceniumSet in an unnamed country that is, like the author’s native Chile, emerging from a totalitarian dictatorship, Death and the Maiden explores the after-effects of repression on hearts and minds.

Paulina Escobar’s husband Gerardo is to head an investigation into past human rights abuses. A Dr. Miranda stops at the Escobar house to congratulate Gerardo. Paulina overhears them speaking and is convinced that Miranda supervised her prison torture sessions. She decides to exact her revenge.

This play is a riveting intellectual and emotional tug of war that contains strong language and tackles adult themes.

Death and the Maiden runs at the Compass Theatre, Ickenham, from 11th to 14th March at 7:45pm.

Tickets are £12.

Visit the Compass website to book tickets, or call 01895 673200.
