Proscenium Presents… Waiting In The Wings – April 13-16, 2016

proscenium_waIting_wingsSet in ‘The Wings’ charity home for retired actresses, Noel Coward’s wryly amusing piece is a wise and compassionate address of the problems of confronting old age. “It’s the most lovely modern play I’ve played… cruel, but awfully funny” Sybil Thorndike

Coward himself, writing in his diary in the late 1950s, said ‘the characters are good and dialogue, of course, excellent’ and later, ‘It is a moving and valid play… one or two of the scenes in it are among the best I have written’.

Lotta Bainbridge arrives at ‘The Wings’, knowing that sparks will fly when she encounters fellow resident May Davenport as they had both fallen in love with the same man, many years earlier.

Waiting in the Wings runs at the Compass Theatre, Glebe Avenue, Ickenham. The play starts at 7:45pm and tickets are £12 each. Box office number is 01895 673200 or visit the Compass box office to order tickets online (no booking fee applies).

We look forward to seeing you in April.
