The Sleeping Beauty of Savoy – February 27 to March 2, 2014

theatre_masks2PHEOS Musical Players are delighted to be back at Rayners Lane Social Club but for the very first time in their 91 year history, they are performing a Pantomime, and a very different one to your normal….it’s behind you…oh no she isn’t!!

Performances: February 27 to March 2, 2014

This panto has been written by Cynthia Morey who was a Principal soprano at the D’Oyly Carte company who performed all the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas at the Savoy in London. It  uses the music of Sullivan but with new words to tell the story of  “The Sleeping Beauty of Savoy.” There is a wicked fairy, a dame…ours is 6’4 and he is wearing platform shoes to boot…a good fairy and a hen pecked king as well as of course the beautiful princess and her handsome prince who actually in real life are sisters!.

For those who know the Gilbert words, it has taken a lot of brain power to learn these new words but the show is definitely a one off and any G&S buffs should come down to Tithe Farm Social Club, Rayners Lane to see it as it has only been performed a handful of times.
