Workshop for Social Care Employers – March 5, 2014

harrow_council_logoAre you a social care employer looking for new recruits? Find out how apprentices can help your company, improving recruitment, staff retention and quality of care provision at a workshop on Wednesday, 5 March.

HEB (Harrow, Ealing, Brent) Partnership, wants to help social care employers to engage, train and employ apprenticeships.

This workshop is your chance to meet Harrow Ealing & Brent council’s along with Stanmore College and Job Centre Plus to ask about apprenticeships and their benefits to both the apprentice and employer.

The workshop – at Harrow Civic Centre from 10am to 1pm – will also include:

  • Employers talking about training and employing apprentices
  • Apprentices sharing their experiences
  • A discussion with HEB Partnership on how to recruit to your business

Harrow Council’s Cabinet Member for Business and Enterprise, Cllr Kamaljit Chana said: “It is important that we help both employers and our young job seekers so that business thrives and youth unemployment levels fall. The aim of this workshop is to encourage social care employers to hire apprentices which in turn will not only benefit the apprentice, but also the quality of care provided to those in social care. I hope that those who attend will find the information they need and understand how HEB Apprenticeships can help, and also start to consider hiring apprentices”.

Harrow Council joined Ealing and Brent (HEB) to increase the number of social care apprenticeships via a three-way partnership. The council’s recognise the value and benefits that apprenticeships can have in improving recruitment and retention in the care sector, but more significantly, in the quality of care provision.
