Average Fire Engine Arrival Times – Harrow Ranks Badly

150x150_fire_engineThe London Fire Brigade have a target that, on average, the first appliance to the scene of a fire, should arrive in under six minutes. There are currently eight London boroughs that have an average arrival time in excess of that across 2011/12; the table below shows this, along with figures for both 2010/11 and 2012/13 for comparison:

            2010/11 2011/12 2012/13 (to date)
Barnet 06:35 06:16 06:22
Bromley 06:27 06:24 06:04
Enfield 06:34 06:26 06:13
Harrow 06:26 06:14 06:13
Hillingdon 06:43 06:35 06:38
Kingston 06:10 06:02 05:47
Richmond 06:42 06:20 06:21
Sutton 06:10 06:07 05:57

The comparison between the 2010/11 and 2012/13 figures show that the average first appliance attendance time in the eight boroughs has reduced by 15 seconds in that period.

Measures taken include greater topographical training for crews and a continued reduction in the time it takes for fire crews to leave the station.
