Radio Northwick Park Charity Football Match – August 18, 2013

adam_garciaActor Adam Garcia will join a hospital radio team at a charity football match next month.

Adam Garcia, Australian actor and dancer, will join Radio Northwick Park’s football team when they take on a team of former Arsenal players and celebrities on Sunday 18 August.

Radio Northwick Park, a hospital radio station at Northwick Park Hospital, has nearly 150 volunteers and broadcasts around the wards.

The friendly match, which takes place at Harrow Borough Football Club, will raise money for Radio Northwick Park and the Arsenal Foundation, a charity launched to help engage young people in the community.

Money raised for Radio Northwick Park will allow the small local charity, now in its 42nd year, to continue to provide a patient visiting and entertainment service to patients within Northwick Park Hospital.

Adam, who featured Coyote Ugly and more recently appeared in the West End dance show Revolution with Kimberley Wyatt, said: “A friend of mine made me aware of the charity and the football match, and I thought that what better way to help in someway than to play the game I love the most.”

Adam also was a judge on reality show Got To Dance in 2010.

The day will be filled with entertainers, food and the match itself. Spectators will also be able to take part in a half time penalty shoot out with the players.

Tickets are now available to buy at www.radionorthwickpark.org and cost only £5, with all under 12s going free.
