South Harrow’s polyclinic to close on weekdays

Patients will soon be unable to turn up and receive treatment at the flagship polyclinic in South Harrow on weekdays.

NHS Harrow’s board decided to restrict the opening hours of the walk-in service at Alexandra Avenue Health and Social Care Centre, in Alexandra Avenue in South Harrow, from 8am to 8pm every day of the year to just 8am to 4pm on weekends and Bank Holidays.

Furthermore, visitors who arrive at any of borough’s walk-in centres with “clearly non urgent” needs, such as travel vaccines, cervical smears, routine dressings and smoking cessation advice, will be turned away and advised to visit their GP or pharmacy instead.
