13th Roxeth Scout Group

The 13th Roxeth Scouts are based at St Gabriel’s Church in South Harrow, and made up of four sections:

  • Beavers is for boys & girls between the ages of 6 to 8 meeting on a Friday. They enjoy a evenings aimed mainly on learning through discovery & play.
  • Cubs is for the 8 to 11 year olds. Meeting after Beavers on a Friday. Cubs are allowed to camp over night unlike beavers so this is usually the first time some children go away without there parents. Like the beavers the programme is mainly games and they go out on many visits to local attractions and leisure parks.
  • Scouts for the 11 to 14’s meet on a Friday evening after Cubs. The Scout section works on building up useful skills and training children to be better adults. We have a varied programme of games, hands on learning and visits. We work towards Scouts badges i.e.: Cooking, Camping, Sports, DIY and many many more. On camp our Scouts are encouraged to cook and look after themselves to make them become for self sufficient people. Also on camp we try and introduce the Scouts to as many different outdoor activities as possible including Climbing, Archery, Potholing and Canoeing.
  • Explorer Scouts is a new section started in May  2004 for 14 to 18’s. This section meets on a Friday evening at a separate venue & operates very similar to the regular Scout section although focus is on the Scouts to organize the evening and trips with minimal adult help and supervision. They aim to achieve all the different Scout awards and The Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
