GSK Site in Greenford – Redevelopment Consultation

building_site_13The former GlaxoSmithKline site at Greenford offers a “real opportunity for regeneration of the area,” and a website has been set up to detail the redevelopment opportunities and plans.

The site was for many years GSK’s global manufacturing and operations HQ. The number of employees on site had steadily declined since the 1980s, leading to the closure of the site by GSK in 2009. Now the site has the potential to be redeveloped into a mixed use development, offering employment, residential, education and leisure use.

Discussions have begun with Ealing Council, local politicians and the community on the future of the site and this website will be the key platform for our consultation and engagement work over the next few months. The project has already delivered higher education to the area through the new GSM London business college which opened in October 2012.

Berkeley Avenue runs through the heart of the site and they understand that the community is keen to see it reopened. This is something that will happen as part of the redevelopment, and the details are being discussed at present. They say that they are looking forward to opening up the site and reconnecting it with Greenford.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION:

  • Wednesday 6th February 2013 – 5pm to 9pm
  • Thursday 7th February 2013 – 1pm to 5pm

Venue: GSK Site Security Office, Greenford Road

If you have any comments or questions on the site or the redevelopment process, please get in touch via the feedback page of their site.
