Robbery at Santander in South Harrow

There’s a few reports about today about a robbery at Santander in Northolt Road, South Harrow this morning, around 6.40am. Apparently, the two men entered the branch armed with baseball bats, and demanded cash from guards who were delivering cash. They snatched the box, and made off towards Northolt – one on a bike, the other on foot. Nobody was hurt during the attack.

Anyone with information should call Finchley Flying Squad on 020 8358 1751 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police are also appealing for information about an N-Reg Toyota Carina, which was set on fire in nearby Wood End Avenue just minutes after the robbery.

Ironically, this robbery comes just two days after Money Magazine’s latest survey of readers nominating their most trusted service companies put Santander firmly bottom – for the second year running: “And the news is especially bad for Santander. Labelled the worst in Britain last year by consumers and the Press, it has again been voted the lender most people love to hate.”

Unhappy customers, perhaps?
