Five arrested on suspicion of robbery

Harrow Police have arrested five teenagers (aged 18) on suspicion of robbery today (Wednesday 21 September) after receiving a call from a member of the public informing them that a woman was being assaulted by a group of women near a car park in Corbins Lane, South Harrow at 11.45 pm on Tuesday 20 September.

The victim, aged 30, from South Harrow, told police that she had got off a bus and was walking along Corbins Lane, when three women approached her asking for a cigarette. She tried to ignore them and carry on walking but the suspects blocked her path. The suspects started assaulting the victim and grabbing at her handbag. Two more suspects arrived and joined in attack before stealing the victim’s purse.

The victim was taken to a North West London Hospital with minor injuries to her face and legs and was later discharged.

The five suspects are currently being questioned at a north London police station.
