Officers from Durham Constabulary patrol in Harrow

Harrow officers have been involved in policing the London Olympics, however we are still patrolling on our wards and tackling crime. On Tuesday 31 July 2012 an additional 25 police officers from Durham Constabulary were assisting Harrow officers.

PS Carruthers who was on duty in Harrow’s Grip and Pace centre briefed the officers to patrol specific locations around Harrow following intelligence reports of criminal activity.

PC Debenham from Harrow Weald SNT was assigned to patrol with the Durham officers as he has an extensive local knowledge. This approach proved invaluable when a sharp-eyed member of the public saw two men breaking into a house.

PC Debenham directed the Durham officers into the house and the two men were quickly arrested. This was great team work from the police and public.

The two men have since been charged with burglary and detained to appear at court.
