Street Robber in Harrow Jailed for Ten Months

A 24 year old Romanian woman was sentenced to ten months imprisonment at Harrow Crown Court last month, after being found guilty of robbery.

Jenica Alexandru, a Romanian national approached a 73 year old woman, on the pretence of asking for directions, as she was walking along Pinner Road, Harrow, on Friday 8 July. Whilst engaging with the woman, Alexandru snatched at her necklace causing it to break in half, before getting into a car with three other occupants and driving off. The victim reported the robbery to police and a short while afterwards officers stopped a car matching the description of the suspect’s car close to the scene.

Alexandru and three other occupants were arrested. A 29 year old woman, a 28 year old man, and a 41 year old man, were later released without charge.
