Two men charged with Roxborough Avenue robbery

On Monday 30 January officers from Harrow’s Robbery Squad arrested four men following a robbery on a 51 year old Harrow woman.

The woman had been walking alone, along an alleyway between Whitehall Road and Roxborough Avenue when the attack happened. Two men walked passed her, turned round and then started to follow her. The woman started to walk faster, at which point the men grabbed her handbag. The woman screamed and put up a struggle before the suspects kicked her, forcing her to release her bag . The two suspects ran off towards Whitehall Road. The woman followed them and got the registration number of a car that she saw being driven off at speed which she passed on to police.

“… four suspects arrested within an hour of the incident happening.”

Enquiries revealed two possible addresses linked to the vehicle used. As a result, the vehicle was located and officers arrested three men aged 21 and a 22 year old man on suspicion of robbery.

  • Unemployed, Khalid Adam aged 21 of Norwich Walk, Edgware was charged with robbery and detained for court.
  • Unemployed, Enayatullah Maikhel aged 22 of Ruby Way NW9 was charged with robbery and detained for court.

Two 21 year old men have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Walker, in charge of Harrow’s Robbery Squad said:

“The actions of this lady were very brave and her quick thinking, along with the experience of the officers investigating the matter, resulted in four suspects being arrested within an hour of the incident happening. This was an excellent result.”
